The roots of different plants may have their own structure. Root systems can also differ due to various environmental factors. For example – if the soil is dry and rainfall is rare in a particular region, then the root system may develop to reach groundwater. Cacti have very deep roots. The same goes for steppe plants, especially weeds. Often the size of the root can be several tens of times larger for the ground part of the plant. Many plants can recover from a small portion of the root.
