What organisms are called autotrophs? What is the significance of the appearance of chlorophyll?

Autotrophic, or self-feeding, organisms are those that are capable of producing organic compounds in their cells from water and mineral salts. This includes all green plants. Their leaves contain chlorophyll, under the influence of which this process takes place. It’s called photosynthesis. As a result of photosynthesis, plants receive nutrition, and all other living things receive oxygen.
Autotrophs supply organic matter to heterotrophs – organisms that are unable to produce them on their own. They are man, all animals, bacteria and fungi.
