What organs did horsetail have?

Horsetails differ from other plants, since they have spore shoots, consisting of separate segments (internodes), as well as nodes of ring-shaped groups of leaves. This arrangement of leaves is called a whorl. Horsetails have sporangiophores – special structures that have sporangia. Horsetail is a perennial rhizome herb with green branches and scaly leaves arranged around the stem at whorl nodes. Rhizomes are highly branched, going deep into the ground. Shoots of horsetails are tough, the cells are composed of silica and cellulose. This is how horsetails protect themselves from herbivorous insects.
