What pigment is contained in chromatophores of algae that gives them their green color?

Chlorophyll gives green color to parts of any plant. It is a pigment due to which the process of photosynthesis is carried out in the cells of plant organisms, that is, organic substances are formed from inorganic substances in the light.

Only in higher plants (higher plants have real tissues and organs), chlorophyll is contained in the chloroplasts of cells, and in green algae – in a special sac called a chromatophore.
