What place does a person occupy in the system of the animal world? On the basis of what signs?

Man occupies the apex of the animal world and is proclaimed “the king of nature.” Of course, this is a self-proclaimed title. But now there is a lot of controversy about who really is the king of nature, since a person has neither the devices for hunting, nor the devices for protection. We do not have strong immunity and our body is not the most complex in the animal kingdom. If we consider the human intelligence, then here we succeed. But still, from the point of view of psychology, a person does many stupid and strange things that other species do not. Therefore, we are “kings of nature”, since none of the animals have claimed this title.
