What plant did Mendel study?

Gregor Mendel – a scientist from the Czech Republic studied various varieties of peas. It was he who, as a result of his experiments on this plant, established the laws of crossing, known today as Mendel’s laws. In addition, his experiments served as the basis for the development of modern genetics.
