What plants and animals are found only in Australia?

Australia is the most ancient and unique continent of our planet. This continent was discovered to the world later than anyone else, therefore (and also due to geographical isolation) nature here has been preserved almost in its original form. A eucalyptus tree grows here, which has adapted to the unique climate. Australia is home to kangaroos, koalas, unique flying squirrels, echidnas and platypuses – animals not found anywhere else in the world.
