What power did Caesar wield after defeating his enemies?

During the activity of Julius Caesar in the Roman Republic, there were two more powerful political figures with whom he actually shared power in the country. However, one of them, Marcus Crassus, died in the war with the Parthians, and the other, Gnaeus Pompey the Great, began a civil war against Caesar, wishing to preserve the Senate rule. But Caesar in several battles defeated him and his associates, after which he was appointed dictator by his associates, and had almost absolute power in the country, limiting the influence of the Senate.
