What problems did the Crimean war in Russia reveal?
One of the main problems of Russia after the annexation of Georgia, part of Armenia and Azerbaijan, was in the people living here – the mountaineers. These people defended their borders all their lives, and therefore, in most of their time, they raided neighboring countries. After the annexation of Georgia to Russia, the raids weakened, but did not stop. It was hard to give up the pressure, since the mountains were the protection of the mountaineers. Therefore, the sorties of the mountaineers often ended in success. There was also a big problem in Nicholas 1 himself, he strongly hoped for the countries that the tsar helped, and soon they began to fight against him. The situation was complicated by the fact that Russia was no longer at war only against Turkey, but also against all large European countries. Also the main problem was the poorly developed armament of the Russian troops and the lack of a modern fleet.
