What process provides new combinations of genes in linked inheritance?

Sexual reproduction provides the emergence of new combinations of genes. There are two types of reproduction of living organisms: sexual and asexual. With sexual intercourse, two living organisms of the same species but of different sex are required. When crossing, the combination of two genetic materials of organisms occurs. A person, for example, receives 23 chromosomes from each parent. In total, we have 46 chromosomes with normal development. With asexual reproduction, genetic material is passed from one organism directly to its offspring. Therefore, no gene combinations occur.
