What property of water allows the oceans to influence winter air temperatures?

Climatic conditions and changes in weather on land are largely dependent on ocean waters. This is especially true for coastal areas. This happens because the land surface heats up much faster than sea water. For this reason, in hot summer weather, a cool wind blows from the seas. And in winter, the water cools longer and not as fast as the earth. And the air above the surface of the seas and oceans is warmer in winter than on land. Due to this, seasonal changes off the coast are not as sharp as in the interior of the continents.
