What property of water does a person use to obtain salt?

When obtaining salt, a person uses two properties of water.
The first property is to dissolve. As long as the river flows to the sea, it dissolves rocks that come across it on its way. And no longer pure water flows into the sea, but a solution of various substances. It so happened that there is a lot of salt in this solution.
The second property is to evaporate over time, faster when heated. People collect seawater in special containers, and either wait for it to evaporate in the sun, or heat the water to speed up the process. Water evaporates, salt with impurities remains.
