What provides the initial nutrition of the plant embryo?

The main reproductive organ of most seed plants, the seed, contains not only the embryo, but also a set of nutrients that are necessary for growth in the initial stage of life. The only thing that is needed in this case is the moisture needed to dissolve these substances. After the emergence of the sprout and roots, the plant can independently provide itself with the necessary substances.
