Plasmolysis is the separation of plant cell contents from the cell wall with a significant lack of water in the plant. There are five types of plasmolysis. There are only a few reasons that affect it. It depends on the difference in pressure of the environment, on the amount of lost water, the size of vacuoles and their shape, as well as on the number and nature of the bridges that connect plant cells, on the viscosity of the cytoplasm and, of course, on the composition of the hypertonic solution.
