What reasons led France to wars with European states?

England and Prussia were one of the main opponents of France for a long time. With England, the rivalry was for colonial possessions, as well as for domination of the sea. With Prussia, conflicts occurred over adjacent territories (Alsace and Lorraine), which often passed from hand to hand. When Napoleon ascended the throne in France, then his policy of active expansion caused the militia of most European states against France, which ultimately led to the defeat of the latter.
