The tribunes had the right to prohibit orders or decrees of any magistrate (except for the dictator and censor) and the senate (veto power). Arrest and sentence magistrates (except for the dictator) and ordinary citizens to a fine, convene and preside over meetings of the tributary committees and the Senate, issue edicts and propose bills.
