Natural ecosystems are characterized by biogeocenosis – this is the circulation of substances and energy between all the components of a certain ecosystem. All components of the biogeocenosis are interconnected and influence each other, due to which a dynamic balance is achieved. Animals are an important component in the cycle of substances, since they are the final links of all biological chains: a plant takes energy from the environment, herbivorous animals eat plants, and they serve as food for predators.
