What role does history play in a person’s daily life?

A person who does not know history is doomed to repeat its mistakes over and over again. It seems to us that in everyday life we do not need history, but it teaches us to think logically, to search for and find cause-effect relationships, to develop memory and critical thinking. We celebrate significant dates in the history of mankind, and if you do not know what exactly is being celebrated today, you may look stupid and not distant. History helps make civil political decisions, such as who to vote for in elections.
