What role does light play in the life of animals, plants, fungi and bacteria?

Light is closely related to the concept of heat. They cannot be considered separately, since if the Sun disappears, then all life on our planet will die in about 6 minutes due to the cold. Sunlight gives animals warmth and allows them to see objects around them. Plants, thanks to light, are able to photosynthesize. They produce various substances that are needed for their life. Heterotrophs (almost all animals) feed on plants, since they cannot produce the necessary substances themselves in the process of photosynthesis.
