What roles did a man play in ancient Sparta?

A Spartan was considered a man who was born in Sparta. Already from infancy, a Spartan man passed the test. The newborn was examined, and if he was healthy by outward signs, then he was left alive, and if not, you were killed. They had the following powers and responsibilities:

3) served in the army;
