Great Britain is an island state located in the northwestern region of Eurasia. The coast of France lies south of the British Isles. Great Britain is cut off from them by the English Channel and the Pas-de-Calais. These straits also connect the waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. To improve transport links between the UK and Europe, a tunnel was dug under the English Channel through which both rail transport and various cars and buses can move.
