What strata of the population lived in Ancient Egypt?

Many people lived in Ancient Egypt. All of them were divided into slave owners, slaves and peasants. The first category included well-to-do people holding a high position in society. Pharaoh and his family, nobles, scribes, priests, warriors entered there. They could afford to have residence and slaves. Prisoners of war who sold themselves for debts to peasants became slaves. Farmers, artisans and merchants were considered semi-dependent. They paid tax to the state, but they had personal freedom.
