What substances are included in the biological membrane?

The biological membrane consists of fats, proteins and carbohydrates (in animals only).
1. Fat is the main part of the membrane.
2. Proteins – provide the transport of substances from the external environment into the cell and vice versa.
3. Carbohydrates, or glycocalyx (available only in animals) – provides the perception of information from the external and internal environment.
