What time of day does photosynthesis take place?

Previously, it was believed that photosynthesis occurs in plant leaves only during the daytime, since chloroplasts need light to carry out the reaction. In fact, photosynthesis takes place both day and night. There is a dark and light phase of this process. During the light phase, chloroplasts synthesize ATP. This is the main source of energy for the implementation of the vital processes of the cell. During the dark phase, glucose is created. During oxidation by mitochondria, it releases energy, which is stored in the form of ATP.
