What tissue forms the middle layer of the heart wall?

The heart consists of 3 layers: endocardium (internal), myocardium (middle), epicardium (external), fused with the heart sac – the pericardium. The myocardium consists of pepper-striped muscle tissue, inside which a conductive network passes, due to which the heart contracts.
