What transformations in the army and the economy laid the foundation for the first victories in the Northern War?

After the defeat at Narva, Tsar Peter realized that the army urgently needed to be reformed. In the shortest possible time, 10 mounted dragoon regiments of 1000 people in each were created and transferred to Sheremetyev for raids on the Swedish rear. Copper bells and cannons were removed from the churches. The regiments of the new order were urgently formed following the example of Preobrazhensky and Semenovsky. The economy was being translated into a military fashion. In the Urals, new plants for ore processing and cannon smelting were built. Weaving factories produced ship sails and military uniforms.
