What types are climatic zones divided into?

In 1956, the Soviet climatologist B.P. Alisov created a classification of climatic zones.
According to this qualification, there are 7 climatic zones on Earth – 4 main and 3 transitional:
-1- equatorial;
-2- subequatorial;
-3- tropical;
-4- subtropical;
-5- moderate;
-6- subpolar;
-7- polar.
