What types of food are typical for bacteria?

By the type of nutrition, bacteria are divided into two types – autotrophic and heterotrophic.

Autotrophs generate organic matter from inorganic. An example is the process of photosynthesis of green sulfur bacteria.

Heterotrophs, on the other hand, feed on ready-made organic matter. They are divided into two types: saprotrophs (feed on substances of dead remains) and symbionts (feed on substances of living organisms).
