What units are used to measure internal energy and the amount of heat?

Like any type of energy, the amount of heat is measured in joules (J) or kilojoules (kJ). The old unit of measurement is a calorie – this is the amount of heat required to heat 1 g of water in a HS. 1 Cal = 4.19 J.
