What was the advantage of manufactories over handicraft production?

Manufacture and handicraft production can of course be equated, but manufacture has a broader meaning. If in a craft workshop everything was done to order, and was done by one artisan, then in manufacturing there was already a division of labor. Someone collected, someone painted and the like. Also, the manufactory used the labor of hired workers, which was the first step towards the transition to capitalism and further industrialization in many European countries.
