What was the advantage of the ancient Greek alphabet over the Phoenician one?

Once upon a time, the Phoenicians were able to invent their own alphabet. This alphabet was borrowed by the Greeks over a period of time. Thus, the Greeks made some of their edits to it. We can say that the Greek alphabet differed from the Phoenician one in that it had vowels. The Phoenicians in ancient times created their own alphabet, but there were no vowels in it, which was a significant drawback, but the Greeks were able to eliminate it.
