Charles Darwin was against the immutability of species. He observed that animals have common similarities with each other, they can adapt to the world around them. He also saw natural selection taking place. Farmers could, by breeding, develop new varieties of plants and animal species, which contradicts their own beliefs about the immutability of species. Since it was possible to isolate beneficial properties in animals through selection, then natural selection could exist. Recent experiments with wall lizards have once again confirmed Darwin’s teachings.
