What was the difference between the method of voting among the Athenians and the Spartans?

The Athenians voted by raising their hands or dropping stones, shards, small metal discs into special ballot boxes. The winner was determined by the number of votes. The Athenians called the method of voting of the Spartans “childish”. There were electors who sat in such a way that they did not see the candidates and voters. The applicants went out to the voters one by one and they greeted them with shouts. Whom they greeted louder, in the opinion of the electors, they recognized the winner.
