What was the fate of Napoleon after his abdication?

After Napoleon abdicated the French throne, he became a prisoner of the British cabinet and was subsequently sent into exile on the island of St. Helena.
The island was removed from Europe and therefore was chosen due to fears of Napoleon’s escape.
Longwood House became the place of residence on the island. The dwelling was surrounded by sentries and towers.
In 1816 Bonaparte’s freedom was even more limited. It is also known that Napoleon did not think about escaping. In June 1816, he began writing the book The Memorial of St. Helena, which broke records for readability in the 19th century.
