What was the fundamental difference between the Paris Commune of 1871 and the previous revolutions?

The assembly created as a result of the popular uprising in Paris in 1871 was named the Paris Commune. Distinctive features of this discontent were the insurgents’ demand to replace the state professional army with the people’s militia and the people’s desire to separate the church from the secular government. The rebels demanded the introduction of universal free secondary education and the establishment of a shift in the posts of officials. The Paris Commune was convened in the same year after the seizure of government buildings. Many social issues were resolved there.
