What was the historical significance of the battle on the Kulikovo field?

We are talking about the events of September 1380. The battle on the Kulikovo field for the first time showed that the Moscow prince can gather in his possessions a large army, which will be enough to defeat the Khan of the Golden Horde. Previously, this was impossible, either the Horde raided Russian cities, or the Moscow prince could achieve a lull for a period, for example, Ivan Kalita from 1328 to 1368.

In addition, it was possible to prevent the unification of the forces of Khan Mamai and the Lithuanian prince Yagailo.

However, despite the defeat, the Golden Horde posed a serious threat for about 50 years, until it broke up into several khanates.
