What was the historical significance of the unification of Italy?

The unification of Italy or Risorgimento took place from the middle of the 19th century to 1871. It began with the Kingdom of Sardinia and its War of Independence. In 1861, thanks to Garibaldi, Sicily and Naples were united with the Kingdom of Sardinia. In 1866, the Italians, in confrontation with Austria, annex Venice with the region with the support of Prussia. After the outbreak of war between Prussia and the French Empire, the troops of Napoleon III were forced to leave Rome and the Italians entered it. Since 1871, Rome became the capital of the new state. Thanks to the unification, the Italian nation is formed, as well as industrialization and market capitalization.
