What was the nature of the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War? why ?

The Great Patriotic War was of a liberating nature for the Soviet Union, since Hitler set himself the goal of conquering world domination. Hitler’s plan included the destruction of a large number of the USSR’s population, as well as the seizure of its resources. The plan was to conduct a lightning war, strikes in which will be simultaneously delivered in three directions: Leningrad, Moscow and Kiev. The plan was called the Barbaros plan.
