What was the purpose of the folklore expedition of Khamit Ergaliev?

| Khamit Ergaliev was interested in the traditional folk culture of the Kazakh people and described it in his literary works. He was fond of the creativity of Kazakh poets-improvisers who sang their poems under the instrumental accompaniment of their dombra and komuz, as well as the art of the competition of akyns – aitys. During folk expeditions, he recorded Kurmangazy’s kyuis (plays for dombra).
Khamit Ergaliev wrote a book about the legendary Kazakh folk author of kyuis – Kurmangazy Sagyrbaev, and in his work “Songs at the Dawn” – introduces us to the work of the modern Kazakh composer Akhmet Zhubanov, who was engaged in the processing of folk songs and kyuis
