What was the result of the Soviet-Finnish war?

The Soviet Union continued military operations in Finland for a year. The reason for the military clash was the shelling of the border territories of the USSR by Finnish border guards. The “Winter War” claimed the lives of thousands of Soviet soldiers who had no experience in military combat in the northern latitudes. The government of the Soviet Union pursued one strategically important goal – to move the state border away from the city of Leningrad. The war ended with the signing of a peace treaty in Moscow. The USSR received the city of Vyborg and the Finnish border lands from which local residents were evicted. He also received full control over the water area of ​​Lake Ladoga and Rybachy Island.
