What was the society of the Western Slavs in the High Middle Ages?

We are talking about the period from the XI to the XIV century, the Western Slavs then had two states: Poland and the Czech Republic, and also the Slovaks lived partly as part of Hungary and the Lusatian Serbs under the control of the German princes.

The Western Slavs at that time had the following features:

They had a late statehood, it was young for that period, this is their difference from France and Byzantium.
In the XIV century, they had universities, the other Slavs did not have anything like it.
They were under the religious influence of Rome (Catholics since 1054), and not under the rule of the Patriarch of Byzantium (Orthodoxy).
They had developed ore mining, since these Slavs settled in the Carpathians.
They were also hurt by feudal fragmentation.
They did not have contacts with the world of Islam, like the southern and eastern Slavs from the middle of the XIV century.
In 1241, the Mongol-Tatars once passed through their territory.
