What was the specificity of the Bashkir uprising manifested in?

The Bashkir uprisings were preceded by the annexation of the Bashkir lands to Russia. The nature of the accession is still controversial among historians (voluntary or violent).

There were nine uprisings in total.

The reasons for the uprisings were: the fear of the Bashkirs to lose independence, to lose their lands and rights. Also, Russian officials allowed arbitrariness, taxes increased. The Russian government also made attempts to convert the Bashkirs to Christianity, although they were Muslims.

The reason for the next uprisings could be the brutality with which the previous uprisings were suppressed.
