What was the weakness of the French monarchy?

If we analyze the French monarchy, then its weakness was that the king did not have all the power. The country was divided between feudal lords, some of whom had more possessions than the king himself. It is logical that they could dictate their terms to him. Also, the king could not single-handedly issue orders. And the monarchy also weakened when technical progress began, thanks to which manufactories appeared, the king simply could not control and influence this process.
