What were Solon’s reforms? What role did they play in the development of Athens?

Solon’s reforms brought about progressive changes in ancient Athens. So the reforms of this statesman abolished debt slavery, forgave debts, banned the sale of grain, equalized the rights of the nobility and ordinary citizens, and so on. Thus, the formation of democracy took place, where power in the state belonged not only to the ruling elite, but also to all other citizens. We can say that Solon became the father of democracy.
