What were the Babylonian gods patronizing?

In ancient Babylon, like in other states, there were ancient gods who originated from the time of the existence of Sumer. The most important gods were: Anu – the supreme deity, patron of royal power; Enlil is also the supreme god, the patron saint of a separate community in the state; Enki – the god of fertility and wisdom, was the patron saint of magical arts; Ishtar – the goddess of fertility and beauty, was the patroness of procreation.
