What were the contradictions of Russian society at the beginning of the 20th century?

At the beginning of the 20th century, inequality persisted between representatives of different classes, as well as autocracy. This hindered the development of society and the country. The national question was acute: the non-Russian population had significantly fewer rights than the Russians, which caused discontent. In the agrarian sector, there was a problem of landless and land-poor peasants, which led these categories of the peasantry to an even greater dependence on the landlords, although serfdom had long been abolished. The workers were dissatisfied with the length of the working day, working conditions, and lack of rights. At the same time, they could not go on strike (this was banned).
