What were the differences in the views of Westerners and Slavophiles?

The main difference in the views of the Westernizers and the Slavophiles consisted in their attitude towards Russia. If the Slavophiles believed that our country was developing in its own way and should not be equal to Europe and other regions, continuing a special historical development, then the Westerners, on the contrary, were convinced that the Russian Empire should follow the example of the developed European powers. At the same time, the views of representatives of both trends extended not only to political development, but also to cultural identity.
