What were the main provisions of the Brest Peace Treaty? Why did the Bolsheviks agree to sign it?

According to the Brest Peace Treaty, Russia had to withdraw its army and navy and stop participating in the First World War, to give Germany the territory of Ukraine, part of Belarus, Finland, Estonia and other lands. Also, Russia had to pay Germany a reparation (compensation for losses caused by the war) in six million marks. Lenin decided to sign this peace treaty, because he believed that Russia was no longer capable of waging a debilitating war outside the country when a civil war was brewing in the country itself.
