What were the political, economic and social origins of the 1921 crisis?

In 1921, a temporary NEP policy was introduced in Russia. It was due to the fact that the economic and social situation deteriorated many times after the revolution of 1917. The policy of war communism contributed to the destruction of the economy. During its short period, the population declined, confidence in the Soviet regime declined, the level of poverty increased, and the rates of production and economy declined. This needed to be corrected by introducing democratic principles into Soviet society.
