What were the pros and cons of the French Revolution?

The French Revolution of the 18th century was one of the most striking events. It had both positive results and negative traits. The revolution was carried out in order to rid the country of autocratic rule. People joined the ranks of revolutionaries in order to defend their civil rights and finally destroy the feudal remnants associated with the unequal division of income and land. They were able to achieve this, but a large number of people died. Also negative was the introduction of Napoleon’s dictatorship.
